The Missouri Division of Tourism website has a helpful search engine for accommodations; you can pick the type of place you'd like to stay, the city or region, and the time of year and it will provide you with options based on your selections.

The Lodge of Four Seasons, Horseshoe Bend Parkway, Lake Ozark (tel. 800/THE-LAKE; www.4seasonsresort.com), is one of the largest resorts in the Midwest and offers golf, swimming, a marina, five on-site eateries, and a 15,000-square-foot spa. Possibly the most exciting new place to rest your head, though, is the reopening of the Art Deco Hilton President, 1329 Baltimore, Kansas City (tel. 816/221-9490; www.hilton.com). After 25 years of sitting unoccupied, the 213-room hotel threw open its doors again in January 2006 following a $45-million restoration.
