Frommer's Review
Picture yourself sitting in a wicker armchair, enjoying a drink under an ornate stained-glass dome with an encircling wrought-iron balcony. You can have all this at the cliff-top Hôtel Hermitage. The "palace," with its wedding-cake facade, was the creation of Jean Marquet (who also created marquetry). Most rooms have large brass beds, and decoratively framed doors that open onto balconies. Even the smallest rooms are medium-size, and the largest one is fit for the biggest movie star with the most luggage. Large mirrors, elegant fabrics and upholstery, deluxe bathrooms with tubs and showers, and sumptuous beds make living here idyllic. Two floors were recently added to its century-old main building. Guest rooms are modern and sleek in the styling. High-season rates apply during Christmas, New Year's, Easter, and July and August.
