If you're an avid beach lover, you should know in advance that the nearest beach is a 5-minute drive away from this hotel. But for immediate access to one of the loveliest and most panoramic terraces and bar areas in Montego Bay, it's hard to beat. It was built in 1806 as the homestead of the Dewar family (the scions of scotch). Only a short but very thick wall of the original villa remains, but what you'll find is a sweepingly panoramic hilltop aerie ringed with urn-shaped concrete balustrades, a pool terrace suitable for sundowner cocktails, and comfortable, slightly fussy bedrooms done up in lace-trimmed curtains, homey bric-a-brac, and pastel colors. Each accommodation comes with a midsize bathroom with tub/shower combination. Maid service is included in the rates. Frankly, we're surprised that the bar here isn't more consistently crowded, mobbed even, as an after-work drinking destination, as the view and setting are indeed idyllic.
