In a verdant setting that's a 10-minute walk from the urban congestion of Montego Bay, this hotel -- formerly known as the Verney House Hotel -- offers a feeling of remote calm. You can still get to where the action is by making a short trek downhill, or kick back on the sand by heading to one of several beaches (such as Cornwall Beach) that lie about 5 minutes away by foot. The inn also provides free van transportation to and from the beach. Each unit sports white walls and simple furnishings, creating the sense that you're in a private home. The restaurant and bar both overlook the swimming pool.
