Following a $5-million much-needed renovation of a property that has managed to survive throughout many past incarnations, under many previous administrations, this all-inclusive is one of the best value vacations on the island. At this hotel, families and family values reign supreme, thanks to low, all-inclusive prices for basic life support and some well-conceived and well-executed children's programs. Whereas each of the most basic food and amenities are included as part of the all-inclusive price, there's a higher percentage of upscale diversions that are not included in the price than at virtually any other all-inclusive hotel in the region, thereby allowing families to pick and choose those activities they don't want to pay for. The result is low prices for generic vacations, with extra fees imposed for additional gewgaws and frills, such as scuba diving. Designed with three interconnected wings, much like the shape of an airplane propeller, it opens onto a stretch of powder-white, soft, sandy beach. The location is 37km (23 miles) east of the Mo Bay airport. The most spacious rooms are the garden cottages, which each house two adults and two children. For those who must have an ocean view, the resort rents some "superior" rooms, suitable for two adults and one child, with a balcony overlooking the beach. The least expensive units have a mountain or garden view, with a balcony, each housing three adults and one child. The wide range of sports and amenities make this an alluring choice. The food is fairly standard, but there's a Japanese restaurant with teppanyaki tables and a pasta-and-pizza restaurant. Four-course gourmet dinners are served in the Casablanca Restaurant.
