The Jabberwock Bed & Breakfast ReviewOne of the better B&Bs in the area, the Jabberwock (from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass & What Alice Found There) is 4 blocks from Cannery Row. It's centrally located but tranquil; its half-acre garden with waterfalls is a respite from downtown. The seven rooms are individually furnished, some more elegantly than others; all have full bathrooms and goose-down comforters and pillows, and three have Jacuzzi tubs for two, fireplaces, and king beds. The Toves Room has a huge walnut Victorian bed and secret garden, the spacious Borogrove has a fireplace and a fine view of Monterey Bay, the Mimsy has an ocean view, and the Wabe has an Austrian carved bed. Full breakfast is served in the dining room or in guest rooms. Evening hors d'oeuvres are offered on the veranda, and a wooden Vorpal rabbit dispenses homemade chocolate chip cookies, served with milk.
