Getting There
Montpelier is accessible by car via exit 7 off I-89. For Barre, take exit 8; Waterbury is at exit 10. For bus service to Montpelier or Waterbury, contact Vermont Transit (tel. 800/451-3292 or 802/229-9220; www.vermonttransit.com). For train service to Waterbury, contact Amtrak (tel. 800/872-7245; www.amtrak.com), whose Vermonter makes daily departures from New York City. The trip time one-way is about 9 hours.
Visitor Information
The Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce (tel. 802/229-4619; www.central-vt.com) is on Stewart Road off exit 7 of I-89. Turn left at the first light; it's a half-mile farther on the left. The chamber is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.
