Frommer's Review
This vegetarian fare is presented buffet-style, and patrons help themselves from dozens of options before paying the cashier by weight -- about C$10 (£5) for an ample portion. Dishes include quinoa, garbanzo curry, several types of salads, a large variety of hot dishes, tofu with ginger sauce, and so on. Even avowed meat eaters are likely to not feel deprived. The only potential complaint is that the food that's supposed to be hot is sometimes lukewarm. Beer and wine are available, too. With white tablecloths and a second-floor location tucked off rue Ste-Catherine, this is a relaxing, satisfying spot to keep in mind when you're downtown. There's another branch at 1720 rue St-Denis (tel. 514/845-2627).

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
