A highly visible location no doubt helps keep this wine bar/restaurant filled, but the management leaves little to chance. Arrayed around the handsome center bar are walls of shelves stacked with bottles of wine and single-malt scotches. Live jazz is presented nightly in summer, less often in winter. Candle flames flicker in river breezes that flow in through front and side windows flung wide on summer nights. The food doesn't disappoint, either in preparation or in portion. Lamb is the self-proclaimed specialty; in one version, it comes as deviled double chops with giant shrimps. There are options, however, such as bison or tiger shrimp in Grand Marnier sauce. The restaurant offers an early bird special from 4 to 6pm for C$16(US$14/£6.85).
