Frommer's Review
The Vogue created quite a stir when it opened in 1990, instantly joining the Ritz-Carlton at the top tier of the local luxury-hotel pantheon. While it is no longer the hip retreat it once was, confidence and capability resonates from every member of its staff, and luxury permeates the hotel from the lobby to the well-appointed guest rooms. Feather pillows and duvets dress the oversize beds, and all rooms feature "Ultimate Doeskin" robes by Chadsworth & Haig. Marble bathrooms are fitted with Jacuzzis -- double-size in suites -- and separate shower stalls. The hotel's L'Opéra Bar is a two-story room with floor-to-ceiling windows. For families, Loews goes beyond lending libraries of games and has special children's menus, Game Boys, and supervised recreational programs. A springtime "Sugar Season" package includes a private trip to a traditional sugar shack and advice from the hotel's executive chef, who doubles as a "syrup sommelier," about grades of maple syrup. An early morning joggers' station offers bottled water, towels, fruit, and maps to local jogging trails on nearby Mont Royal.
