Frommer's Review
The restaurant of the same name on the ground floor -- romantic and faded in a Left Bank of Paris sort of way -- has long been one of Vieux-Montréal's favorites. It was accorded major renovations in 1999, and while they were at it, the owners transformed the overhead floors into this fashionable urban inn. The auberge continues the restaurant's romantic style; even the smallest rooms are surprisingly spacious, and they have a variety of combinations of furniture, including double beds, that are useful for families. Of the eight units on each floor, four have whirlpool tubs with separate showers. All guests can spend time on the rooftop terrace, which overlooks the Basilique Notre-Dame. The auberge's one suite is on the top floor and offers superb views of cobblestone streets and the basilica's cloistered gardens.
