This downtown location of the small Dauphin hotel chain opened in February 2007. Its nine floors are decorated in bland tans and putty, and room furnishings are just a step up from dorm-room functional. However, the bathrooms are sleek with black counters, slate floors, and glass-walled shower stalls, and -- get this -- every room is equipped with a computer terminal and free Internet access. Rooms also have large unstocked refrigerators. A key is required to access the elevator, for an added bit of safety. The introductory C$109 (US$95/£47) price might not last, but all in all, this is a good new option for travelers on a budget.
