Opened in 2009, Le Petit Hôtel is a chic and trendy standout of Old Montréal’s hospitality landscape. Everything—from the funky artwork to the music playing in the lobby—skews toward a younger demographic. The individual rooms have a unique approach to design. Instead of being adorned with art, the stone walls are generally left blank, providing an opportunity for the black furniture, white bedspreads, and neon orange chairs to create an appealing contrast of color. In the lobby, an orange ruffled crepe paper lamp dominates the room, and on the far back wall is a black and white sketched collage that’s vaguely psychedelic. Rooms vary in size from tiny to extra large, so pick what suits your needs. Breakfast is served in the lobby café, which also serves bakery items and doubles as a bar.
