Introduction to Mossel Bay

Traveling east on the N2, the first sign of the fast-approaching town of Mossel Bay, unofficial entry point of the Garden Route ("officially" it starts at Heidelberg), is the sci-fi spectacle of the MossGas oil plant on your left. Although it has a few interesting attractions, the town does not really improve on closer inspection, so don't go out of your way if you're pressed for time. Mossel Bay is approximately 4 hours from Cape Town on the N2, and 20 minutes from George.
