Frommer's Review
Well-known restaurateur-chef Rahul Akerkar has created a restaurant that tops every food critic's A-list and has been listed by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the 60 best restaurants in the world. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Liz Hurley, the Clintons, and every other international celebrity passing through Mumbai seems to stop here. We recommend you sit upstairs in the open-air terrace section with its frangipani trees. Indigo's chic ambience is enhanced by the clientele: By 9:30pm the entire bar section is heaving with the city's Beautiful People. The international/fusion menu is not extensive, changing once a year, but specials are on offer, with something for every appetite. The celebrated lobster and shallot risotto is a constant on the changing menu, and for very good reason; it's delicious. Whether it's the tuna, rawas, beef tenderloin, ravioli, or tortellini mains, Indigo's dishes are simple yet utterly delightful. End the meal with the unique chocolate fondant with jalapeño peppers or the daily special soufflé (the lemon soufflé is out of this world). Indigo's Sunday brunch with accompanying jazz band and free-flowing Indian liquor is legendary; if you'd like to stuff yourself silly from noon to 3pm and rub shoulders with the city's socialites, book your table in advance.
