"Clean and comfortable at a sensible price" is the appropriate motto at John and Ana Birch's establishment, which is now managed by their charming daughter, Angela. I have long considered the Sandalwood to be Nadi's best value -- provided you don't need a restaurant on the premises. Quietly situated about 270m (900 ft.) off the Queen's Road behind the Mercure Hotel Nadi, the New Zealand-style motel consists of three two-story buildings flanking a nicely landscaped lawn with a rock-bordered pool. Units in the Orchid Wing are somewhat larger than the others and have queen-size beds instead of doubles. Every unit has a kitchen and sofa bed.
