Introduction to Nairn277km (172 miles) N of Edinburgh, 147km (91 miles) NW of Aberdeen, 26km (16 miles) E of Inverness A favorite family seaside resort on the sheltered Moray Firth, Nairn (from the Gaelic for "Water of Alders") is a royal burgh at the mouth of the Nairn River.
