The heat and humidity heightens during October and November, when 84-86?F (29?30?C) is typical. In the rainy season from December to March it remains hot (up to 104?F/40?C), with the possibility of flash floods, but come April, temperatures ease to around 77?F (25?C). Calendar of Events

Wildlife-watchers visit Namibia all year round, but the busiest times for tourism are around Easter, when the weather is mild and the grasslands may still be green after the rainy season, and from late July to late October, when conditions are driest and animals rarely stray far from fresh water. Migrant birds arrive in November and December, making December through March a rewarding time for birdwatching. Namibia's most popular cultural events are Oktoberfest, a German-style beer and music festival held all over the country in October, and in spring, the Windhoek Carnival (www.skw.com.na/wika), featuring costume parades and balls.
