Frommer's Review

In an arrowhead-shaped building on downtown Nanaimo's busiest corner, the Acme offers five page's worth of menu choices, everything from sushi to pizza, curry to steaks. Everything at this chic cocktail bar and '90s-retro dining room was delicious. The sashimi and sushi rolls are particularly good while both pizza, pasta, and burger "kits" encourage DIY creativity. Cocktail tapas are also excellent, and even the steaks and seafood, like grilled five-spice salmon and raw oysters with ponzu sauce, are memorable. This is a great place to bring a group of people with differing food tastes, which is exactly how it's done in Nanaimo. The Acme is one of the top hang-outs for the city's young urban hip.
