Frommer's Review
This is the top restaurant in Belle Meade, the Nashville area's wealthiest community. Despite the decidedly residential and suburban feel of the surrounding neighborhoods, the Belle Meade Brasserie has managed to create a stylish urban sophistication. Pink tablecloths and black chairs set the tone, and changing art exhibits add plenty of color. You can dine in one of the intimate dining rooms, or, when the weather's good, out on the deck. The menu here roams the globe and brings it all back home to the South with such dishes as corn fritters with pepper jelly, a reworking of a couple of Southern classics that makes for an appetizer to wake up your mouth. While the menu changes every couple of months, you can expect to find the likes of double-thick Thai barbecue pork chops, a spicy tuna tower with roasted chili sauce, or a chicken roulade with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. There are always several pasta dishes as well. To accompany your meal, you can choose from one of the finest wine lists in the city. Between 5pm and 7pm, you can get economical three-course, sun-downer dinners. You'll find the Brasserie just off Harding Road at the start of Harding Place (behind the Exxon station).
