Mirror serves one of the best vodka cucumber martinis in town, a feat that befits this ultra-hip bar and restaurant in the 12th Avenue South district. Metallic furniture, pale blue walls, and gauze curtains define the casual, chic setting. Spanish sherry is a must when ordering from the extensive tapas menu, including olives, tuna ceviche (raw fish dish marinated in citrus juice and spices), and crispy prosciutto-wrapped cipollini onions. I highly recommend the warm goat cheesecake with mesclun greens, asparagus, tomatoes, and mushroom ragout. Entrees include light options (salmon spring rolls, carrot/ginger soufflé) and heartier seared duck or rosemary-marinated filet mignon with truffle mashed potatoes, spinach, and sherry-spiked mushroom sauce.
