This used to be Pika Tapas, but it didn't get all that much attention until the owners decided to go upmarket and chefs Bollo and Romero introduced the high-flying modern cuisine and wines of their native land. Their menu includes a few traditional dishes, among them pasteles de bacalao, potato-and-cod cakes, and espinacas a la Catalana, sautéed spinach with raisins and pine nuts. But they up the ante with vigor, as when they have paired grilled sea scallops with squid-ink pasta or duck breast with diced polenta, bacon, apples, prunes, and tomatoes. To get a better idea of their range, spring for the $58 tasting menu (available Mon-Thurs). Note that lunch is served only on Thursday, and paella only at Tuesday dinner.
