Frommer's Review
You can't fault the location on Canal right across from the Quarter (excellent for viewing Mardi Gras parades). But ultimately it's classy but boring -- yes, we're spoiled -- more for business travelers who don't plan on spending much time in their rooms. New NOLA-specific touches such as local photos and drawings are appreciated, as are the thickly made beds. The public areas are far more grand than the actual rooms. Bathrooms are dinky, though amenities are good. Corner "deluxe" king rooms (usually numbered 04 and 09) have extra windows for an additional view, though higher up is best. The fitness center is decent sized and there is a Don Shula Steakhouse on the property.
Facilities:
Restaurant; 2 bars; heated outdoor pool; health club; concierge; business center; gift shop; salon; room service; laundry; dry cleaning

| 2 stars | Frommer's Very Highly Recommended | |
| 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
