Frommer's Review
Built as a hotel in 1915, with some of the earliest indoor plumbing and telephones for such an establishment, this is a cute place that is only getting better as they renovate their rooms. Out is the English botanicals, in is French Regency -- think pale blues and greens, reproduction photos and paintings, and other simple but thoughtful touches. The new carpets are a bit blah, but the effect of the rest is fresh and charming. Get a new room, that's the point. New TVs are coming. The second floor has some balconies, just right for watching Mardi Gras parades. This is the right place for those who want something more than a B&B but don't quite want the generic quality that comes with a chain or business-oriented hotel.
