Evason Hideaway Ana Mandara Review

If you aren't someone who is used to the life of luxury, this is the kind of place where, after your butler leaves you alone in your room, you do a little dance of glee. In fact, other hotels in Nha Trang do not hold a candle to this place. The attention to detail here is impeccable. Staff wave you off as the boat pulls away for the 20-minute ride to the resort and are waiting to greet you when you arrive at Hideaway's jetty. Then it's off to your villa for a tour and private check-in. The villas are sanctuaries of cool, off-white stone and blond wood. The main floor has a bathroom the size of a standard living room. A large wooden bathtub sits between the his-and-her vanities, and the tropical rain shower is outside, under the bamboo roof. Upstairs is the spacious living room, with gorgeous ocean views. Back downstairs is the bedroom, which also faces the ocean; you can take in the view from the window seat big enough for two, the four-poster bamboo bed, or the outdoor lounge chairs next to your private infinity pool. Decisions, decisions.

Dining is lovely in a two-story, open-air pavilion at seaside, with great views of the sunset and romantic nooks. On low-tide evenings, diners can enjoy a meal near the surf under the stars. The area is completely secluded, nary a motorbike or car to be found. At night, the skies are so clear it feels like you could reach out and tuck a star into you pocket.

Note: The resort also runs a private beach located two bays over with only one booking per day, great for honeymoon getaways.

Facilities:
3 restaurants; bar; concierge; dive center; health club; Jacuzzi; library; outdoor pool; room service; spa; watersports rentals (snorkeling, sailboats, water-skiing, and runabouts); 1 villa available for those w/limited mobility

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
