Frommer's Review
The Phu Quy is an interesting conglomeration of three properties, so rooms vary (and some of the passages between buildings require you to duck through the most unlikely doors). Ask for something nice, and be sure to bargain a bit. All of the buildings sport small, bright, and very clean rooms with brand-new plastic furniture. The beds are comfortable and bathrooms are small, with shower-in-room facilities. There are no views to speak of, but go for one of the top floors to escape street noise. Of course, that means climbing lots of stairs. This place has no amenities whatsoever, but breakfasts are good and cheap, and, of course, the hotel will book tickets. This is backpacker central and an anthill of activity, and that, along with the price, makes it worth a stay. The large, shaded penthouse area has hammocks and lawn chairs and is a good place to relax (they'll deliver food to you there, too). It's family-run, and owner Mr. Quy is as nice as they come.
