Just across the street from the rapids, this 1920s-era Tudor-style hotel with a distinctive gabled roof is one of the only luxury properties on the American side, and the most comfortably intimate hotel on either side. Skip the tiny standard rooms and go with a suite; these are more like apartments, with full kitchens, dining tables, comfy chairs and sofas, and tons of amenities. The guest rooms at the nonsmoking hotel are carpeted and decked out in antiques, but you won't find them stuffy or musty at all; staying here feels just like relaxing at home. In fact, there's not even a formal front desk -- you just check in at the restaurant. All suites have a view of the rapids, a separate bedroom, and spacious bathrooms.
