A stay here involves trekking to your room up steep flights of creaking stairs and navigating a labyrinth of corridors. The small rooms are deliberately old-fashioned, usually containing antiques or antique reproductions and creaky, yet comfortable, beds. Don't expect much in the way of hotel amenities. The staff long ago grew jaded to the fact that the hotel is less than perfect, but at these prices, who's complaining?
