Frommer's Review
One of our favorite nests in Nîmes is actually the 17th-century mansion of the Marquis de la Baume. An overall sense of grandeur and a magnificent staircase that ornaments the interior courtyard are the best features. During the hotel conversion, the designers carefully preserved the original architecture, and the result is a winning combination of modern and traditional. In contrast to the stately exterior, the guest rooms are hyper-contemporary, usually in tones of soft reds, oranges, and ochers, and the tiled bathrooms with tub/shower combos are in a postmodern style evocative of Philippe Starck's work.
