Frommer's Review
One of Norfolk's two convention hotels (the Sheraton is the other) and its most elegant, this 24-story high-rise is connected to The Waterside via a covered skywalk. Its mahogany-paneled lobby is a masterpiece of 18th-century European style, with fine paintings, a crystal chandelier, potted palm trees, comfortable seating areas with gleaming lamps, and one-of-a-kind antiques. A magnificent staircase leads to the main restaurant, lounge, and meeting rooms on the second floor. There's a branch of Don Shula's Steakhouse and sports bar downstairs off the lobby. Guest rooms are sumptuously furnished with dark-wood pieces. Although the rooms do not have balconies, odd-numbered upper floor units do have a river view. The indoor pool here opens to a sun deck overlooking the river.
