Just a few minutes' drive from the outlets and restaurants, the Buttonwood has more of a classic country-inn feel than any other North Conway inn. It's set on 17 quiet acres on the side of Mount Surprise in an 1820s-era home, with a tastefully appointed interior inspired by the Shaker style. Most guest rooms tend toward the small and cozy, but two common rooms (one with a television) allow guests plenty of space to unwind. Two units have gas fireplaces, one has a Murphy bed, and one has a large Jacuzzi (it's also wheelchair-accessible). The hosts are uncommonly helpful with the planning of day trips, no matter your interests. Breakfasts, a highlight, tend toward the country elegant; the rhubarb coffeecake is a hit.
