Glen Oaks Country Inn ReviewJust 10 minutes north of North Conway is a spur road that leads through the village of Intervale, which has several lodges and a feeling of being removed from the clutter of outlet shops. Glen Oaks was built in 1850, with a mansard-roofed third floor added when it opened as an inn in 1890. Typical for the era, the rooms are more cozy than spacious, and today are decorated mostly with reproductions and some country Victorian antiques. Some rooms have private bathrooms across the hallway. The best units might be the two in the nearby stone cottage (the Cottle Room has a wood-burning fireplace, wing chairs, and a small porch with Adirondack chairs) or the newer Forest Cottage, with a two-person Jacuzzi and small refrigerator.
