Despite its unpretentious exterior, this restaurant in downtown McMinnville serves some of the best meals in the region. Each evening, there's a fixed-price five-course dinner that might start with prosciutto-wrapped figs and melon, followed by minestrone soup and a salad of greens with a huckleberry vinaigrette and toasted walnuts and filberts. From there you'll move on to a pasta dish and then the entree, which might be salt-crusted salmon with chanterelle-mushroom cream sauce; rib-eye steak with Gorgonzola butter; or prosciutto-stuffed chicken with fontina sauce and shaved black truffles. If you still have room after all that, be sure to try the chocolate-hazelnut brandy torte.
