This casual restaurant in downtown Newberg is popular with local winemakers and is a good spot for breakfast or lunch before a day of wine touring. Meals are creative and utilize fresh, local ingredients but you won't spend a fortune. If you like crab, try the crab cakes or crab soufflé. Even the simple chicken pot pie here gets a Northwest spin here with chanterelle mushrooms. Although dinner is also served here and can be very good, I tend to think of the French Bear as a breakfast and lunch spot. There are plenty of local wines available.
