This restored historic hotel in downtown McMinnville is operated by a Portland-based chain of brewpubs, nightclubs, and unusual hotels that are all filled with interesting artwork. Guest rooms here are done in a simple, classic style, with antique and reproduction furniture. The corner kings with private baths and big windows on two sides are the nicest rooms; most rooms here have shared bathrooms. Offsetting this inconvenience is the hotel's genuinely historic feel. The ground-floor brewpub/dining room, cellar bar, and rooftop bar and deck overlooking McMinnville and the Yamhill Valley all help make the Hotel Oregon eminently recommendable. There are also a couple of good restaurants within a few blocks.
