De Vere Dunston Hall ReviewSurrounded by parkland and its own golf course, this gabled house is imbued with an Elizabethan aura, even though the redbrick mansion dates from 1859. With its soaring chimneys, it has been sensitively converted and extended and is now elegantly furnished and imbued with grand character and comfort. Many of its original 19th-century features are still intact. A wide range of bedrooms is available, including some family rooms with double sofa beds for children. You can stay in elegant four-poster comfort or try one of the attic rooms, which still boast their original beamed low ceilings. From a golf course to an indoor heated pool and aerobics studios, Dunston Hall also has the best facilities in the area.
