Frommer's Review
Hart's lays claim to the best dining in the historic central core of the city, just off the main street. A lovely interior for dining has been created in what was once part of Nottingham's general hospital. Today it invites with its wooden floors, beautifully set tables, and abstract modern paintings on the walls. The location near Nottingham Castle couldn't be more convenient. The cooking technique here is sharp and precise, culminating in a harmonious blend of flavors created from market-fresh ingredients. Excellent appetizers include the likes of leek-and-potato soup with Indian-spiced cod, followed by such well-crafted main courses as loin of venison (served pink) with peppered pineapple and braised endive. Other fine dishes are the pan-fried wild sea bass with poached clams and mussels, or Gressingham duck breast with a red-onion tart.
