Frommer's Review
What to do when your boat-building business plummets as the fisheries decline? How about opening an inn? That's what Lorraine and Jim Colvin did, and their 8-hectare (20-acre) oceanfront compound is delightful and inviting. Half of the guest rooms are in the 130-year-old main house, which has been tastefully modernized and updated. The others are in a more recent outbuilding -- what you lose in historic charm, you make up for in brightness, ocean views, and double Jacuzzis. The innkeepers are especially knowledgeable about local artists (much of the work on display here was produced nearby), and they have compiled an unusually literate and helpful guide to the region for guests to peruse. The property has three private sand beaches, and coastal boat tours and picnic lunches can be easily arranged. The inn also serves dinner nightly (inn guests only), featuring local products prepared in a country-French style and wines from the inn's own wine cellar.
Facilities:
Dining room; laundry service
