This is the best restaurant in Nürnberg, dwarfing all other competition. The city's most ancient restaurant, dating from 1550, was originally a meeting place of wine merchants. Its upscale cuisine is reason enough to visit the city in the first place. The cuisine is so inventive and refreshing, with many nouvelle recipes, that we view this as worth a detour. The chef firmly believes in market-fresh ingredients. Look for an ever-changing menu based on seasonal availability. The traditional specialty is roast loin of beef (what the name of the restaurant means in German).
