Frommer's Review
Foodland has won countless new converts since Richard Field -- oenophile, gourmet, and cigar aficionado -- moved his wine shop here. The thriving gourmet store offers gemlike vine-ripened tomatoes and juicy clementines, sparkling bags of Nalo gourmet greens, designer cheeses, caviar, Langenstein Farms macadamia nuts, vegetarian and salmon mousses, vinegars, and all manner of epicurean delights, including wines and single-malt Scotches. The warm, just-baked breads (rosemary-olive oil, whole-wheat, organic wheat, and others) baked on the premises with dough flown in from Los Angeles's famous La Brea Bakery, are a huge hit.
