This Kailua treasure is the longtime favorite of Hawaii's malassada mavens. Malassadas -- sugary Portuguese dumplings that look and taste like doughnuts without holes -- fly out of the bakery, infusing the entire neighborhood with an irresistible aroma. The Bake Shop also offers a variety of pastries, cookies, scones, Portuguese bean and other soups, and local- and European-style breads.
