The phrase "home-style cooking" is bandied about a lot, but in this case it really means something. For the traveler, it means a meal just like the main dinner in a well-run Mexican home. Finding this place is a bit of a trick; it's 5 1/2 blocks south of the zócalo. Look for a small sign saying only RESTAURANT. When you enter, a chalkboard in front of you lists the day's meal. You will find some tables behind the overgrown garden. There is also indoor dining. The comida corrida includes a basket of bread, an appetizer, vegetable or pasta soup, rice, a meat or enchilada course, and dessert. Beer and other beverages are available.
