Frommer's Review
A magnificent hotel in a 16th-century landmark convent, this is the place to cloister yourself when in Oaxaca. Several beautiful courtyards with age-old walls bring to mind the original purpose of the building. The rooms, however, do not. All are comfortable and have the conveniences you would expect in a hotel of this caliber (no small feat given the constraints imposed by the infrastructure). Exterior rooms have triple-glazed windows to reduce noise. Higher prices are for interior rooms with views of the courtyards. The main difference between "deluxe" and "club" is the size of the room. Service is good. The location -- between the zócalo and Santo Domingo on a pedestrian-only street -- is ideal. All this said, I have to add that the prices keep going up and are getting harder and harder to justify. If you luck into a steep discount, then it might be worth it.
