If not for the fact that this recently restored historic 1924 inn was used in the filming of the first Twilight movie, it would be known primarily for its lofty setting high above the western end of the Columbia Gorge. However, the movie connection has somewhat overshadowed the inn's historic heritage. Regardless of whether you're a fan of the Twilight films, this inn is a fascinating base for exploring the Gorge. The Roosevelt Suite is by far the largest and most luxurious room here -- or anywhere -- at this end of the Gorge. However, I love the exotic little Petite Alcove, with its gable ceiling and dozens of pillows. Be aware that the three rooms without private bathrooms share a bathroom that is down a flight of stairs from the guest rooms.
