The beautiful Orosi river valley is home to Costa Rica’s oldest still-functioning church. Built by Franciscan monks in the mid–18th century, the church features well-maintained adobe walls that have endured for centuries and survived several major earthquakes. Off to the side you’ll find a small museum with a collection of religious paintings and artifacts, as well as original furniture and period clothing exhibits.
