Frommer's Review
Part of a chain, Bar Isn't It? employs a gaijin (foreign) staff and attracts a mainly young Japanese clientele with its low prices -- all food and drinks cost ¥500 ($4.15). No money is wasted on decor, and seating is at bar stools around dozens of high tables, but after midnight, it's standing room only. Live DJ sounds range from reggae to rock, and although there's no cover charge per se, on weekends there's a door charge of ¥1,000 ($8.35), which includes two drink tickets on Friday and one drink ticket on Saturday, apparently to keep out those who want to join in the fun but don't want to drink. Daily 6pm to 2am, Friday to Saturday to 5am.There's another Bar Isn't It? east of Shinsaibashi Station on the street that runs along the north side of Daimaru department store, at 1-4-31 Shinsaibashi-Suji (tel. 06/6120-3861), open the same hours and also with the same door charge on weekends.
