Auberge McGee's Inn

On a quiet street a few blocks from the University of Ottawa, this nonsmoking inn occupies a handsome Victorian with a steep dormer roof and an awning-protected entrance. Each guest room is distinctively decorated, often with touches reflective of the owner's Anglo-Peruvian upbringing. Unusually for a B&B, all rooms have fridges and some form of high-speed Internet access, and several -- including the romantic, king-bedded Victorian Roses Suite -- add double Jacuzzis and fireplaces, as well. Ample breakfasts are served each morning to guests, either in a high-ceilinged dining room or a sunny, windowed parlor. If you book an upper-floor room, remember that this three-floor inn has no elevator.
