Frommer's Review
This establishment accurately bills itself as Oxfordshire's cruising restaurant. A purpose-built narrow boat restaurant, this floating dining room cruises the Oxford Canal in and around Banbury; as you dine, say hello to the swans. The chefs might get by with the novelty of it all, but they also serve a sublime cuisine. The boat seats 20 people who for 2 1/2 hours enjoy the dinner and the cruise. Between courses you can go on deck and admire the view. A recent menu delighted us with such starters as mango, avocado, and papaya salad with a lime and yogurt dressing, followed by sea bream with deep fried leeks and a lime butter sauce. Our dining partner selected ravioli with a salmon and chervil mousse with champagne sauce -- a delightful choice -- followed by a perfectly prepared best end of lamb with a mustard hollandaise glaze and rosemary jus. The dessert specialty is "swan profiteroles" with a rich chocolate sauce.
