There are just three rooms in this beautifully restored Casco Viejo mansion, built by one of Panama's founding fathers over a century ago. Despite having very few guests at a time, The Canal House is able to offer the well-rounded services of a much larger hotel (except in the evenings when there are only two housekeepers with limited English available). The nearly 800 sq. ft. Miraflores suite, which can sleep up to four, is by far the best room. It has separate living and working areas, plus a huge wraparound balcony overlooking Avenida A. The upstairs rooms are smaller, though decorated just as elegantly with fine wood furniture. They're also equipped with iPads and 600 thread-count sheets, though they don’t get as much natural light. The huge living and dining area can be reserved for social gatherings.
