Visitor Information
The Instituto Panameño de Turismo (IPAT) main office is inside the Atlapa Convention Center on Vía Israel, in the San Francisco neighborhood, but although open to the public, it does not have a proper information center (tel. 226-7000; www.visitpanama.com). IPAT has three visitor centers, located at Vía España and Ricardo Arias (tel. 269-8011); in Old Panama on Vía Cincuentenario (tel. 226-4419); and in Casco Viejo at Avenida Central and Calle 3 (tel. 211-1959).
Money Matters in Casco Viejo
There is only one cash machine here in Casco Viejo, and it's located within the National Theater (enter through the door on Calle 3A, not through the theater's main entrance). There is a restroom here as well. If the door to the ATM is locked or closed (Sun), enter through the Ministro de Gobierno y Justicia on the back side of the theater on Avenida Central, and ask the security guard to let you use the cash machine.
